Racial Equity Action Plan

Learn about the development of BCDC’s first Racial Equity Action Plan.

What’s in the plan?

In 2020, several members of BCDC staff that span across our agency came together to form the Racial Equity Team (RET) to develop a Racial Equity Action Plan. The Racial Equity Action Plan will be the agency’s roadmap for meaningful change, outlining a vision, goals, objectives, and actions for improving racial equity in operations and activities such as staffing, communications, and the way we implement our policies. It will also assign responsibilities for implementation in a five-year timeline and provide ways for BCDC to measure success.

Plan status and schedule

The RET is working hard to incorporate findings from the Racial Equity Workshop and share a draft of the Racial Equity Action Plan for public review and feedback in early 2024. Please stay tuned!
