June 23, 2021 Enforcement Committee Meeting Summary

Four members of the Enforcement Committee – Chair Gilmore, Commissioner Ranchod, Commissioner Vasquez, and Commissioner Wagenknecht – attended the virtual June 23, 2021, BCDC Enforcement Committee meeting.  The public was able to participate by submitting written comments by email prior to the meeting, by phone, or by accessing the meeting via a link posted on the Commission’s website. View only access was also provided via Facebook Live.

After approving prior meeting minutes, the Committee received an update on enforcement case resolution in 2021 with a written update for the first quarter and a summary of the case resolution progress in the second quarter.  As of June 22, 2021, in the second quarter, staff has opened 23 new cases and closed 60 cases.  The total caseload is 149 cases, down 62 cases from the 211 caseload as of December 31, 2020.  Through the standardized fines and settlement agreements completed this year we have collected $92,186 to date. The Committee also received a written update and a briefing on the resolution of the cases opened before 2000 by Adrienne Klein.

The next meeting of the Enforcement Committee is scheduled to be held from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM on Thursday July 8, 2021.  It is anticipated to also be an online-only virtual meeting with no physical location for attendees and participants to congregate.
