May 16, 2019 Enforcement Committee Meeting Summary
Three members of the Enforcement Committee attended the May 16, 2019 BCDC Enforcement Committee meeting, which was held at the Bay Area Metro Center located at 375 Beale Street, San Francisco. The Committee held a public hearing and voted unanimously to adopt a staff recommended enforcement decision, including the adoption of proposed Cease and Desist and Civil Penalty Order No. CCD2019.00, for violations involving illegal dredging activities in Marin County and unauthorized mooring of barges in San Mateo County. The proposed order requires Salt River Construction Corporation to cease from engaging in the illegal dredging activities and includes a proposed penalty of $28,500. This matter is scheduled for a public hearing and vote by the Commission at its meeting on June 6, 2019. This matter was previously considered by the Enforcement Committee on February 21, 2019 and was remanded for additional action by the Enforcement Committee at the Commission meeting on April 18, 2019. The next Enforcement Committee meeting will be held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on June 26, 2019 at the Elihu M. Harris State Office Building, 1515 Clay Street, Room – 2, Oakland. At that meeting, the Enforcement Committee will receive a briefing on the proposed approach to enforcement program development in response to the BCDC Audit Report 2018-120, including the twice-monthly 2019 Enforcement Committee meeting schedule.
