October 19, 2017 Commission Meeting Summary
17 members attended the October 19, 2017 BCDC meeting, which was held at the Metro Center Regional Headquarters Building in San Francisco.
The Commission will hear an appeal by Scott’s Jack London Seafood, on a date to be determined, of the Executive Director’s decision to forfeit the 15% penalty waiver afforded to Scott’s as part of the Commission-approved Cease and Desist and Civil Penalty Order No. CDO 2017.01.
By a vote of 15-0-0, following a public hearing, the Commission approved a permit application by Scott’s Jack London Seafood to authorize an already-built public pavilion enclosure system at Jack London Square in Oakland. For details contact Adrienne Klein (415/352-3609; email@example.com).
The Commission received a briefing from Caltrans on its proposal to retain various piers on both ends of the former east span of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge to increase public access to the Bay. For details contact Tinya Hoang (415/352-3622; firstname.lastname@example.org).
The next Commission meeting is scheduled for November 2, 2017 at the Metro Center Regional Headquarters Building in San Francisco. The agenda for this meeting may include the following items:
- A briefing by the Resilience by Design initiative;
- A briefing by Professors Mark Stacey (U.C. Berkeley) and Mark Lubell (U.C. Davis) describing the progress of their National Science Foundation-funded examination of Bay hydrology and Bay Area governance challenges in light of rising sea level; and,
- A closed session on the status of BCDC’s litigation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
