April 6, 2017 Commission Meeting Summary
19 members attended the April 6, 2017 BCDC meeting, which was held at the Metro Center Regional Headquarters Building in San Francisco.
The Commission approved, by a vote of 18-0-0, the Enforcement Committee's recommended enforcement decision involving proposed Commission Cease and Desist and Civil Penalty Order for Scott's Jack London Seafood, Inc. and the Port of Oakland. The Commission held a closed session regarding the refusal of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' to accept certain conditions of the Commission's concurrence with the BCDC Consistency Determination for maintenance dredging activities, and took no reportable actions. The Commission considered pending state legislation and voted 16-0-0 to support Assembly Bill 733 (Berman) Enhanced infrastructure financing districts: projects: climate change and Assembly Bill 388 ( Mullin) Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund. The next Commission meeting will be held at the Metro Center in San Francisco on Thursday, April 20, 2017, where the Commission will hold the 7th in its series of Rising Sea Level Workshops, to analyze and discuss issues surrounding BCDC’s Bay fill policies.
BCDC will hold a New Commissioner Orientation prior to its April 20th Commission meeting from 10:00 am to noon. The Orientation will be held in the Claremont Room at the Metro Center, will be open to all Commissioners, Alternates, and the public, and can be used as either an orientation or as a “refresher course.”
All Commissioners and Alternates should ensure that they file their FPPC Form 700 documents that were due on April 3, 2017.
